TELESTROKE PROJECT

The Telestroke Project foresees the integrated management - among hospital doctors with a mobile workstation and the specialized doctors of a reference hospital central unit with a fixed workstation – of a patient with the specific symptoms of an ischemic stroke at any hospital of the Provincial healthcare network.

 
Objectives :     

• Make remote treatment possible for patients even in peripheral hospitals, thanks to a neurological teleconsultation system
  
  
• Patients do not need to be moved

 Methods :

• Neurological tele-consultation via videoconference  (video Full HD, audio) among the different peripheral hospitals and the central reference hospital unit
  
  
• Desktop sharing of patient’s neurological scales, laboratory data, and CT scans
